Sidney Emanuel Batista Dos Santos obtained his PhD in Biological Sciences with a focus on Genetic Biology from the University of São Paulo in 1996. He is a full professor and currently serves as Director of the Oncology Research Center at the Federal University of Pará. Professor Dos Santos has extensive expertise in human and medical genetics, including oncogenetics and forensic genetics. His research focuses on population genetics, oncological genetics, forensic applications, mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA), Y-chromosome DNA (YDNA), and the genetic characterization of Amerindian populations in the Amazon region, with a particular emphasis on genetic polymorphisms.
