Professor Ricardo Dias received his PhD in Microbiology from NOVA University Lisbon in 2009. He is a researcher at CE3C, based at the University of Lisbon, and a member of the Microbiology & Biotechnology Group at BioISI, where he also coordinates the Genomics Infrastructure at FCUL. His work spans bacterial genomics, bioinformatics, public health, and microbiology, with a strong focus on fostering integrative knowledge. Professor Dias’s current research is driven by three main objectives: the application of data mining tools to develop novel diagnostic, prophylactic, and therapeutic strategies; the discovery of new microbial-derived compounds with relevance to public health; and the study of microbial susceptibility in relation to the evolution of bacterial genomes.
