Francesca Ceroni is a senior lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London, UK. She sits on the Imperial College Centre for Synthetic Biology Management Board, and between 2018 and 2021, she was a member of the World Economic Forum Expert Network. Her research focuses on understanding the complexity of genetic regulation by building synthetic systems from the bottom up. Her team works on genetically engineered bacterial and mammalian cells to develop innovative approaches to mitigate resource competition and burden, and improve construct performance.
