Associate Professor of Analytical Chemistry and Chemometrics

 at University of Amsterdam


Dr. Bob Pirok is an associate professor in the Van 't Hoff Institute for Molecular Sciences at the University of Amsterdam. His research focuses on the application of chemometrics and machine learning to analytical chemistry with a special interest in method development and data analysis for multidimensional chromatography. Pirok is also a visiting research professor at Gustavus Adolphus College. He earned his PhD from the University of Amsterdam, with the distinction cum laude.

He has received several international recognitions, including the HTC Innovation Award, Shimadzu Young Scientist Award, Csaba Horváth Young Scientist Award and will receive the LCGC Emerging Leader in Chromatography Award at PITTCON in 2026. Pirok is an editorial advisory board member for LC-GC International and the Journal of Separation Science, and was featured in the 2021 and 2022 editions of the Analytical Scientist’s Power List.
